This porch is only 6 feet deep and set on the frontage line, characteristic of more urban MidAtlantic urban porches. Building codes would not require a porch this low to have a railing. Because of its proximity to the sidewalk and lack of railing, it is less private than most porches. The picture was made in December, so there is no furniture set out.
