Saltaire is a village on the barrier island, Fire Island, off Long Island, New York. There are numerous such villages on the bay side of the island, all only accessible by ferry, walking, bicycle, and a limited number of motor vehicles.
The fire truck on the right is the largest truck in the station. It can negotiate the skinny boardwalk "streets."
