Saltaire is a village on the barrier island, Fire Island, off Long Island, New York. There are numerous such villages on the bay side of the island, all only accessible by ferry, walking, bicycle, and a limited number of motor vehicles.
This little village center is created by attaching several separate houses together and widening the boardwalk to create a plaza.
